Intranet Site Redesign
DMI manages 2.7 million hectares of public forest in Alberta under two Forest Management agreements to supply the majority of its deciduous fibre requirements for the pulp mill in Peace River. DMI and Spot Solutions completed a SharePoint Deployment Planning Services engagement to provide guidance for migration of the existing Front Page Intranet site used by DMI Peace River Pulp Division to communicate Mill Certification, Forest Certification, and Safety standards to permanent and contract personnel to a SharePoint platform. A highly acclaimed BC graphic artist and web designer was contracted to design a vibrant look-and-feel for the site pages. The Client and Project IT Teams collaborated remotely for SharePoint installation via PowerShell script to deploy publishing features, taxonomic navigation, enterprise search, content migration, and Active Directory to SharePoint User Profile synchronization.
“The planning services for this project have been completed by Spot Solutions, helping us put together a plan for implementing a SharePoint solution for DMI. They provided a very comprehensive document detailing the pieces we required to meet the objectives and wants we had expressed. The team from Spot Solutions have done a very good job with the planning stage and have now been engaged in the actual implementation part of our project, which is progressing nicely. I thank the whole Spot team for a very good job.”
