Background and History
The Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation leads the B.C. Government in pursuing reconciliation with the First Nations and Indigenous peoples of British Columbia.
The Problem
MIRR was using SharePoint 2016 and needed to migrate to SharePoint Online.
Their challenges were:
- Their staff did not have the requisite knowledge, skills, or time to perform the migration.
- Their legacy site contained information that was redundant.
- The lack of in-house resources to maintain the SharePoint servers resulted in inappropriately provisioned sites causing permission issues.
- The Company had already started migrating content to SharePoint Online, but due to limited company resources, they required expert SharePoint assistance to help with some of the larger tasks.
Our Solution
Spot Solutions was engaged by MIRR to complete the migration. This included:
- Completing an analysis of their current state.
- Creating a design for their future state.
- Leading their change management activities.
- Recreating InfoPath forms in SharePoint Online compatible platforms, e.g. out-of-the-box list forms, PowerApps.
- Developing user guides and delivering training to their end users.
