What Have We Done in the Past?

Created an automated financial reporting system for expenses.

We created a workflow and form that allowed people be able to record and report expenses on the go and in the field. This data was automatically submitted to a centralized database where accounting has access. Through this automation, the reporting system became simpler, and more accessible in a pinch.

Automating the travel approval process.

In working with a large, multinational organization, we streamlined their travel approval process so that arrangements for travel between continents could be made with far more ease and simplicity. We took a manual and time consuming process and made it digital by leveraging SharePoint, PowerAutomate, and PowerApps. Using these tools, we created a new full cycle request and approval process. This automated process cut the previous cycle time for review and approval of requests by more than 40%! Furthermore, we were able to create a reporting mechanism for leadership. This allows for real-time access to spend information and the ability to break down travel costs in multiple ways.

Automated acquisition requisitions for large projects.

We have also worked to automate processes for large projects dealing with funds in excess of 2 or 3 million dollars. This started as a manual paper driven process to review and approve very large expenditures for multi-year projects. This process includes ROI calculations, capital and other expenditures, cost benefit projections and much more.

By leveraging SharePoint, PowerAutomate, and PowerApps we created a process that allows the creation of a request based on a template, the collection of critical data related to the request, generates a PDF for final review and approval, and manages the approval workflow to completion. This allows management to make more informed, critical business decisions faster and with more certainty. Furthermore, it collects the information in a central repository allowing it to be extracted for reporting. The prior system was a series of printed documents, so any reporting required manual review of each document. By automating this process we have reduced the amount of time being spent by all parties involved.
